Chris Del Zompo
Assistant Coach
Chris Del Zompo (DZ) has been coaching with Norcal since September 2013. He has worked with every program at Norcal, most recently as the Varsity Women’s Assistant starting in 2017 and stepped into the role of Novice Men’s Head Coach in Fall of 2020. He also coaches the Novice Masters at Bair Island Aquatic Center.
DZ began as a coxswain for Junipero Serra High School in 2005. He then attended Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington. He graduated from Gonzaga in 2013 with degrees in Sociology and Political Science.
DZ was one of the first 10 coaches in the nation to be selected and certified by the coaching board of USRowing as a Level 3 High-Performance Coach. He has guided multiple crews to the medal stand both at the Regional and National levels in a variety of events and classifications. He enjoys spending his free time working his day job, cooking, and reading.
