Goran Todorović

NorCal Crew is proud to welcome Goran Todorović as Head Coach of the Men’s Program.
A former Olympian, international medalist, and accomplished coach, Goran brings more than two decades of elite rowing experience to NorCal Crew. His career spans success as an athlete, national team coach, club director, and program builder, making him one of the most accomplished rowing coaches to join the organization.
Originally from Belgrade, Serbia, Goran competed for the University of California, Berkeley’s nationally renowned varsity heavyweight program, helping lead the Golden Bears to IRA National Championships in 2008 and 2010 while earning recognition as a Student-Athlete of the Month. He graduated from UC Berkeley in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts in Development Economics with a focus on International Trade.
As an international athlete, Goran represented Serbia at the highest levels of the sport, including as a member of the Serbian Olympic Team (2011–2012). His competitive accomplishments include a U23 World Championship title, a U23 World Championship silver medal, multiple Balkan Championship victories, eleven Serbian National Championships, and numerous appearances at European and World Championships.
From 2015-2024, Goran served as both Managing Director and Head Coach of Partizan Rowing Club, one of Serbia’s premier rowing clubs. Under his leadership, Partizan captured ten consecutive National Team Championships (2015–2024) while developing some of Serbia’s top junior athletes. In addition to overseeing the club’s operations, budgeting, strategic planning, and coach development, he has coached more than 60 athletes annually while helping build a sustainable, high-performance program.
Goran has also been a coach with the Serbian National Team since 2015, guiding crews to outstanding international results. His athletes have earned medals at the Junior European Championships, including a Junior World Championship gold medal in the Men’s Pair (2022), a Junior European Championship gold medal (2022), multiple European Championship medals, and numerous top finishes at Junior, U23, and World Championship regattas.
In addition to his coaching accomplishments, Goran has played significant leadership roles within international rowing, serving on the organizing committees for the 2012 Rowing World Cup and the 2014 European Rowing Championships in Belgrade, helping deliver world-class events for thousands of athletes and spectators.
At NorCal Crew, Goran’s coaching philosophy centers on technical excellence, disciplined preparation, athlete development, and building a culture where teamwork, accountability, and character are valued as highly as competitive success. His experience developing junior athletes into international medalists, combined with his passion for mentorship and leadership, will help guide the NorCal men’s program into its next chapter of growth and national competitiveness.
