Marsha Atkinson
Men's U15/U16 Assistant Coach
Marsha started Rowing at Biac in 2005, while son was Rowing at Norcal in the same boathouse. While there, she rowed with a number of composite teams, including Marin, Los Gatos and most notably won a gold at masters national championships with Ken Mitchell Rowing. During that time she became a concept 2 certified erg instructor. Started Rowbics erg training for parents and non-rowers. Marsha also won three indoor Rowing gold medals. She trained to become a US Rowing referee. Moving to Sacramento. She joined River city Rowing club. Early morning rows and her job led her move to Sacramento State Capital Crew Rowing at Lake Natoma. While there she volunteered for numerous national US Rowing regattas. IRA Pac 12 NCAA. Timing, stake boat presenting medals.
Wanting broader knowledge a of rowing she participated in coxswain clinics from notable national coxswains. At Capital Crew she spent a year coxing a Sunday masters team also the advanced masters men and won a gold medal at Head of the American as coxswain. Marsha has participated as a rower in west coast regatta’s and won numerous metals. While helping a fellow coach friend at Norcal, she was offered a job as a coach U15/16 men. In 2023.
She is instrumental in training young coxswains.
